Over 65% of the police forces in England and Wales use SKID CAR; leading UK car manufacturers use SKID CAR and SKID CAR is the primary method of teaching skid prevention, within their defensive driving programme, used by the British Armed Forces. A number of British racing circuits and numerous advanced driving schools use SKID CAR. Some county councils are using SKID CAR for driver training of their emergency services along with young, novice, and inexperienced drivers. Of the 146 SKID CAR's in the UK only 21 are available for use by the public. Go For It Skid Car is the only commercially available SKID CAR in Wales and is operated at the County Showground, Withybush, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
Skid Avoidance is a decision-based process that does not diminish with time and is not easily forgotten. Skid Control is a skill-based process that will diminish with time and that is easily forgotten if not practised regularly.
The major cause of all collisions is the driver. Loss of control due to inexperience, an over-estimated belief of skill and ability or just simply a lack of concentration are responsible for ever increasing numbers of deaths and serious injuries on our roads every year. Our courses are designed to be fun but with serious elements incorporated into each session. You will equip yourself with the knowledge necessary to prevent you getting into a skid in the first place and to be able to recognise any unavoidable skids early on and react to them correctly.
Our BRONZE SILVER and GOLD courses are each designed specifically to take you in easily managed training sessions through every element of skidding you could expect to face. By taking each course in turn your driving knowledge-base will increase beyond your expectations - and keep you safe for life!
Our courses are open to anyone with a full driving licence and we also offer a special discount package for learner drivers. Just get you instructor (who must be a DSA Approved Driving Instructor) to call us when you are ready to take your test, or just after your driving test, and we will quote them for our special discount rate.
Individual Skid Car courses cost £85 and last for an hour (you can even bring along 2 friends for the ride but they don't drive) or you could spend 2 hours for just £150.
If you want to share the driving with 2 friends come along for 1.5 hours for £170 or stay for 2.5 hours for £290.
Skid Car also makes a fantastic corporate day out. Groups of 3 are welcome to come along for 4 hours for just £120 per. person.
